Hartford County resident Se’Cret Pierce, of Hartford, was shot twice around 8:40 p.m. on Thursday, April 20 at 48 Huntington St., said Lt. Aaron Boisvert, of the Hartford Police.

When Hartford Police arrived on the scene, they found an 18-year-old man shot, as well as Se'Cret who had been shot in the head and abdomen, Boisvert said.

She was unresponsive and quickly transferred to the hospital where she died early on Friday, April 21.

Since that time her family, including her aunt Khaya Judkins have been trying to come to grips with the fact that the "young, beautiful kind-hearted" girl was gone.

"My 12 yr old niece Se’Cret was a strong personality who made a huge impact on everyone she came across," said Judkins on a GoFundMe effort. "She was big on loyalty and love."

She was also the second person in her family to die after being shot.

In 2012, Se'Cret's father, Shane Oliver, age 20, was killed a few miles from where his daughter was shot, reported NBC CT.

He was shot twice too, as he went to meet a person to collect money for a car, the news outlet said.

The 7th-grader was the seventh person killed in Hartford this year.

Se’Cret leaves behind her mother and younger sister and brother.

"This has left the whole city in shock," Judkins said. "She was just a child enjoying life and it was taken from her too soon. Please support in any way with this tragedy."

The funds will be used to pay for funeral expenses.
